PET CAMSHAFTS

Our newest product- arriving Spring 2000 are camshafts for the 4AG and 3SG engines. From our experience of building and racing these engines, we have determined the most usable cams and have ordered them from a European OEM camshaft supplier. This manufacturer is TUV approved and supplies the OEM and Tuning division of Mercedes, BMW, Renault, Porsche, and Cosworth.

We have contracted with this OEM supplier since they manufacture the new forged camshafts using the "chilled casting" method. The factory Toyota cams are manufactured in this process.  This is superior to normal casting (aftermarket cams) that need trouble prone heat-treatment on "soft" lobes and journals after machining. Most camshafts (reground or new) cast in another process are not even heat-treated. Chill casting hardens the complete camshaft, like a steel billet.

The cams are available with different lift and duration. HI-LIFT cams will require the use and conversion to "under the bucket shim" valve adjustment. Camshafts are available for intake and exhaust. Cam specifications are similar to some imported cams we sell now, but incorporate a better ramp design (possible because these cams are based on exclusive Toysport forgings).

The price will be $250 and $350 (HI-LIFT). These new Toysport camshafts will be an exceptional value / better quality than any OEM or aftermarket cam currently available. We will have the shim conversion kit for the HI-LIFT models available for $750. Adjustable sprockets will also be available.
